The 6th Annual CLENE Training Showcase: Best Practices in Training Staff Development and Continuing Education will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2009 in Room S106 in McCormick Place South from 1:30-3:30 pm.
Applications are still being accepted for participants and donors. This will be my second year participating and let me tell you it was one of the best events at ALA last year.

Some tips for presenters:
- Everyone participating will have a 6’ draped table.
- If you need power, bring an extension cord as your table may not be near the power outlets.
- Wireless should be available but with all things techy, have a backup plan. Consider screenshots in a cycling PowerPoint or some Camtasia recordings.
- The more colorful and tacky your display the better. This is not a stuffy event. This is fun! Have you ever been in a room full of boring trainers?
- Consider bringing give aways: handouts, brochures, flyers, items with your logo.
- Remember to bring a lot of business cards!
- Most presenters use a three-panel display board. You can ship this out ahead of time to your hotel or have printed at a nearby Kinkos.
- CLENE provides refreshments at the Showcase so you won’t go hungry!
- Make sure you save some time to visit the other displays.
